4. Business Connections The programme will provide you with many opportunities to build your networks and grow business connections. You will engage in in-market activities in China and the USA, which will include meeting with local businesses as well as those who have moved into those markets from elsewhere. You will have access to a business advisor who will provide you with opportunities to connect you into their own networks. You will also have the opportunity to connect with alumni of the Thunderbird Global School of Management, The University of Auckland Business School and The ICEHOUSE – this represents over 40,000 alumni in 140 countries.

5. Expert Support During the programme you will be able to tap into expert support. You will work with a business advisor who has a proven track record of global success. Their role will be to help you recognise and articulate key global business issues and guide you while you put your growth plans into action. They may also help you with connections to other experts and resources that can help you progress on your global journey. You will also have access to a leadership coach who will help you review your processes, refine plans and stimulate progress in order to accelerate the achievement of your business objectives.

Programme Framework

The Global Executive Leadership Programme is distinct from other leadership programmes in both its delivery and content.

1. Real-time Impact You will focus on real-time impact to drive action within your organisation from day one. You will work with international experts who bring with them a range of theories, concepts, frameworks, tools and techniques which can be applied to your business to meet the challenges of global growth. As each participant’s business may be on a different point in its trajectory of global growth, the programme’s activities can be targeted specifically at your business to move it forward on that trajectory. You will translate your learning into the context of your business by establishing a leadership and organisational strategy for global growth. You will understand where you need to be, where you are now, where the gaps are, and what you need to do to close those gaps.

2. Global Insight You will engage with a range of people who will bring global insight from many different perspectives – provocateurs, global subject matter experts, notable guest presenters as well as peers. The learning environment will challenge you to experience and reflect on these insights and create unique and specific applications that have relevance to you, your senior team and your organisation.

3. Learning and Challenge Learning and challenge will be your constant companions during the programme. You will meet people who are deliberately provocative and who will push you beyond the traditional horizons of business thinking. You will engage with those who possess in-depth experience and knowledge of markets and global business practice. You will work on strategies both individually and with your senior team covering challenges and opportunities specific to your organisation. You will open up your organisation to innovation and fresh thinking by embracing ‘learning and challenge’ and making it fundamental to your leadership.
