Aim
To create true global thinkers, leaders and organisations capable of sustained international
growth by developing the knowledge, mindset, capability and confidence of senior
executives of global New Zealand businesses.
Philosophy
As you develop your knowledge, capability and confidence, you will share and apply
them to drive action within your organisation to achieve further growth throughout
the world
"Companies that ignore the global mindset do so at their own peril. The ones that
most effectively develop this quality in their employees - particularly senior leaders
- will have a distinct advantage over their competitors"
SCHON BEECHLER AND DENNIS BALTZLEY,
CHIEF LEARNING OFFICER JOURNAL, JULY 2008
Participants and delivery team of 2011 Global Executive Leadership programmeThe inaugural Global Executive Leadership Programme launched successfully on the
24th of August this year. This exciting initiative was developed by the University
of Auckland Business School, The Thunderbird School of Global Management and The
ICEHOUSE and sponsored by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. It will take 23 carefully
selected top level New Zealand executives through a 12 month program designed to
develop a global mindset and to realize their organisations international growth
potential.
After the initial launch celebration, the programme participants started their journey
to global growth with a 3-day intensive residential module in Auckland. Introduction
to the programme framework marked the start of the journey, with the first module
creating heightened awareness of who the participants and their organisations are
today – their mindsets and capabilities.
The group will meet again in China in late November 2011, and then in San Francisco
in February 2012. During these residential modules participants will interact with
global experts and businesses that are operating successfully in both emerging and
mature markets.
In between the modules they will work with the programme’s Business Advisors, a
distinguished group of successful global business people, who will help them to
put their learning into practice and drive global growth for their organisations.
The group will re-join in Auckland in March 2012 to celebrate the close of the programme.
Information about the 2012 programme will be available on this site soon.
